Effective January 1, 2016, Piedmont Credit Union will offer you the option to skip a loan payment without impacting your credit rating! Skip-A-Pay gives you the option to defer two monthly payments each calendar year on any eligible PCU loan. For your convenience, you can choose the month that works best for you (excluding back-to-back payments/consecutive months). PCU should receive your Skip-A-Pay request and confirm your eligibility at least (7) business days before the loan due date. Each Skip-a-Pay request is $25.00 and for your convenience can be deducted from your savings (share) or checking (share draft) account or added to your loan. If your loan is paid through internal transfer, payroll deduction, or ACH setup by the credit union the payment stays in your account, making it available for you when you need it. Interest and any charges for disability, and/or life insurance will continue to accrue for any skipped month, and the final loan payment will include such charges. Loan payments can be skipped for loans paid by ACH transfer created by another financial institution, but PCU is not responsible if the ACH transfer or your bill payment is not cancelled in time and the payment is processed.
*Deferment of payment will extend the life of the loan and may cause an increase in the final payment amount. This offer does not apply to real estate secured loans, business loans, certificate secured loans, line of credit loans, credit card or non-eligible consumer loans, those loans with an invalid mailing address, share accounts with a value of less than $25.00 and/or a negative balance. To qualify the loan(s) must be in good standing and current at the time of request; must have a minimum of 5 months of payment history; cannot be paid ahead more than 60 days; and the monthly loan payment must be at least $100.00.
